About The Local Picks

The band was formed at the end of 2015. The founder, Enrico Piazza, was originally born in Rome, Italy, and started playing music from a very young age. His first instrument was the guitar, and secondly bass and piano. He has been playing and singing in bands or on his own for over two decades.

Back in Italy he played lead guitar for several Beatles tribute bands performing around Italy and Europe for several years and performed on Italian radio and TV. Then he started playing in blues, rock and country with other Italian groups. Enrico moved to the U.S. in 2005 and started playing in San Diego with local bands called “Never So Few” and “The Moneypennies” performing various venues, including The Belly Up Tavern, L’Auberge Hotel, The Grand Del Mar, Morgan’s Run, Santaluz, and Searsucker. The repertoire varies, ranging from classic rock hits and oldies, such as The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, to modern artists, such as Jason Mraz, U2, Radiohead, Coldplay, and many other contemporary artists.
